April 8, 2020 by Joan Breakey   Blog

The up-side is that you eat your own favourite shorter-than-average list of foods. Changes may mean you test some low risk useful foods you may not have been eating, just because they are available. I will include some easy recipes you may like.Make a check-list for groceries. Here we will consider main energy and protein needs. What is your list of staple foods as your … [Read more...]

Eat out but be assertive

October 25, 2019 by Joan Breakey   Blog

In some ways it is becoming harder to manage food away from home. More food is already marinaded or the chips are already coated with a beer batter. More salads include rocket and other bitter lettuces. There is more recognition of the need for wheat-free foods but those foods are more highly flavoured. It is harder where you have to eat food provided away from home for more than a couple of days. It can be done by being assertive when ordering your meals. You do have to be clear about exactly … [Read more...]

A new natural Chicken Noodle Soup. Support it!

August 18, 2019 by Joan Breakey   Blog

We expect Chicken Noodle soups to be full of MSG or HVP. The LaZuppa Natural soup in a bowl should be tolerated by all! It contains stock (water, onion, carrot, chicken, celery, salt), vegetables (sweet corn, carrot, onion, cabbage, potato) and Rice Noodles. It does not contain much of any ingredient as it is a thin soup. The mild flavour is probably derived from the special way Asian recipes prepare the chicken. I have not had a chicken soup I have been prepared to recommend in the last 40 … [Read more...]

Extremely good wine artificial flavours

August 12, 2019 by Joan Breakey   Blog

Can you pick artificial flavours? We know Strawberry Quick and Fanta are not the real fruit!! And we know they contribute to hyperactivity reactions in ADHD kids and other symptoms. But has the flavour industry improved the flavours so much that they can make flavours that mimic wine so well that even experienced wine tasters cannot pick the difference. A start-up US company is making “replica flavours” that do just that. This shows how sophisticated the flavour industry has become. The new … [Read more...]
