September 18, 2015 by Joan Breakey   Article

We know what symptoms food sensitive people get from hearing about the symptoms that go away when they go on the low chemical diet, and, importantly, come back when they have foods that cause their reactions. Many food sensitive people have more than one symptom, and their immediate family may have the same or other symptoms. Following is a list of the many symptoms grouped in different ways of thinking about them:- Food sensitivity symptoms may be two types of physical symptoms. Allergy … [Read more...]

Very high blood pressure and food chemical sensitivity

July 25, 2015 by Joan Breakey   Blog

Question Eighteen months ago I went through issues with very high blood pressure. I was put on BP meds, but my symptoms worsened. I was hospitalized three times in the space of six weeks with blood pressure at 218/115. Once the blood pressure came down I was sent home and nobody could explain it. In hospital I ate very little. In between I spent days in bed with chest pain, back and neck pain and breathlessness, brain fog and headaches or migraines. I could barely function. I had every scan and … [Read more...]

What is the fastest way for you to get to your own best diet?

July 21, 2015 by Joan Breakey   Article

I am now celebrating forty years of working with food sensitivity. What are the key ideas I have found? You have your own list of foods you know or suspect as causing reactions. You can add the “layer underneath”: lists of foods outlined in my book Are You Food Sensitive? preferably also with the help of an … [Read more...]

Q&A about supersensitive fussy child

December 8, 2014 by Joan Breakey   Blog

I often hear about fussy children such as the following story from Lilly. I have an extremely fussy 4 year old who had reflux for over 3 years. She has an extremely limited range of foods that she will eat and is sensitive to alterations in taste eg when we went to OS for a holiday she wouldn't eat a honey sandwich (one of the few things she eats) because the honey and butter tasted different. I also have a 14 year son with Aspergers with similar problems. I saw you mention super tasters in one … [Read more...]
